About the project

Marking Round Hill Capital’s flagship Build-to-Rent investment in the city, in partnership with Olympian Homes, this £165 million scheme was designed by Jon Matthews Architects and Day Architects.

Comprising two structures linked by a podium – a 23-storey and 29-storey tower – the Fairfax will bring 488 new homes to central Manchester.

DPR was instructed to act on light advisory, including rights of light, daylight, sunlight, shadowing and solar glare. Requiring a rigorous strategy, due to the scheme’s prominent central location, it will serve as the gateway to the wider Portugal Street East masterplan regeneration area.

Construction is expected to complete in 2025.
