About the project

At 175 metres, Principal Tower is a 50-storey landmark apartment tower within Principal Place, a new mixed-use development on the edge of the City of London in the borough of Hackney.

DPR were instructed to act on light advisory, including rights of light, daylight, sunlight, shadowing, solar glare and neighbourly matters.

The development was completed in 2020.

Bordering the City of London, Principal Place is a major scheme offering a diverse and vibrant new mixed-use destination with the 50-storey landmark residential tower, Principal Tower, at its core.

The development also features a 15-storey office building, a wide range of public realm, leisure and dining options, and a 25,000 sq ft public piazza.

DPR was instructed by developer Brookfield to advise on rights of light, daylight and sunlight, shadowing, solar glare and neighbourly matters. Our experts collaborated closely with the design team throughout to ensure a successful outcome.

The project completed in 2020.
