The redevelopment of Salisbury Square will feature modern facilities for the City of London Police and His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service in the historic heart of London.

About the project

The plans include a new legal complex with 18 courtrooms and cutting edge police headquarters. These structures will be built to the highest standards of sustainability and accessibility, with a lifespan of at least 125 years.

With the re-use of existing basement levels and proposed double basements across a multilevel site, the scheme utilises some of the most significant temporary works that can be seen within the Square Mile and will ensure that the redesigned Salisbury Square will be expanded into a vibrant public space, serving as a central hub for community gatherings and activities.

The scheme is highly complex from a Party Wall etc. Act 1996 perspective with multiple neighbouring owners within close proximity, one of which occupies a Grade II listed building from the 18th century.

DPR has been involved in this project since 2019, assisting the development team through the planning process by providing Daylight and Sunlight advice and services. Furthermore, we successfully worked with the developer through the appropriation process associated with Section 203 of the Housing and Planning Act 2016, ensuring the development could proceed as planned benefitting the wider area.
