Barking Riverside application submitted

DPR has assisted in the submission of one of the U.K.’s largest planning applications to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham!

The master developer, Barking Riverside Limited (BRL), a partnership between the Mayor of London and housing association L&Q, seeks to uplift the number of consented homes from 10,800 to up to 20,000 homes, making Barking Riverside London’s largest development in single ownership.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has praised Barking Riverside as an inspiring model for addressing the housing crisis, calling it a blueprint for national government as they plan a new generation of new towns across the country.

DPR’s daylight and sunlight team supported BRL with carefully curated daylight and sunlight advisory services. Using cutting-edge technology from the outset, we ensured excellent levels of amenity for future residents while balancing the necessary density for much-needed homes.

This complex site required our team to stay organised and proactive as the scheme developed, and we are incredibly proud to have played a part in this important application.
